3 INTRODUCTION About the T rophy Cam The Bushnell T rophy Cam is a digit al scouting camera. It can be triggered by any movement of game in a location, detected by a highly sensitive Passive Infra-Red (PI R) motion sensor, and then take high quality pictures (up to 8M P still photos), or video clips.
4 P ARTS AND CONTROLS The T rophy Cam provides the following connections for external devices: US B port, SD card slot, TV Out, and external D C power in ( Fig. 1) . A 3-way power switch is used to select the main operating modes: OFF , S ETU P , and ON ( Fig.

6 INST ALLING THE BA TTERIES AND SD CARD Before you begin learning how to use your T rophy Cam , you will first need to install a set of batteries and insert an S D card.
7 If both an external power source is connected and batteries are installed, the T rophy Cam will be powered by the external power source. W hen the batteries become weak, the low-battery indicator LE D will glow blue, indicating the batteries should be changed ( pg 5, “F ront View” ).
8 USING THE TROPHY CAM Once you’ve prepared your T rophy Cam by properly installing batteries and an SD card, you could simply t ake it outside, strap it to a tree, switch it on and leave-and you might get some great photos that are exactly what you wanted.

11 USING THE SETUP MENU TO CHANGE SETTINGS The main purpose of the SETU P mode is to allow you to change the settings of the camera’s parameters (15 different ones are available) so your T rophy Cam operates exactly the way you want it to.
12 Parameter Display The settings for a parameter are shown on the display as follows: Only one setting is displayed at a time, starting with the current setting for the parameter when it is first selected ( Fig. 4a ). T o c hange the setting, use the UP/DOWN keys to display the new setting you want ( Fig.
13 EXAMPLES-Changing the Settings of Some Common Parameters Following this page, you will find tables listing all of the parameters found in the S ETU P Menu, along with their possible settings (or range of settings), and a detailed description of what the parameter controls and what the settings do.
14 Field Scan 2x with Live T rigger Feature Field Scan is a revolutionary new feature for the Bushnell T rophy Cam , which allows you to monitor your food plots or field edges with time lapse images or video.
15 Note: avoid any "overlap" of Field Scan A & B recording blocks when setting their start and stop times, to assure correct operation. 5. After you finish setting the Stop minutes, press OK to confirm your settings for the first block of Field Scan recording.
16 5:30 and 7:00 P M. No Field Scan recording would occur from 8AM to 5:30P M, or from 7PM to 6AM. Remember, Field Scan recording is independent of normal triggers due to animal activity–even if no animals enter the I R sensor coverage zone, an image or video will still be captured every 15 minutes during the block(s) of time.

21 USING THE COORDINA TE INPUT SCREEN Coordinate Input After selecting the Coordinate Input parameter , press UP or DOWN to select the On setting and press OK . The latitude and longitude for any location where you plan to place the camera can be obtained at many websites, for example: http://itouchmap.
22 Fig. 5 : Attaching the Belt MOUNTING AND POSITIONING THE TROPHY CAM Mounting After you’ve set up the camera’s parameters to your personal preferences at home or in your truck, you’re ready to take it outside and slide the power switch to “ ON ” .
23 Using the tripod socket : T he camera is equipped with a socket at the bottom end to enable mounting on a tripod or other mounting accessories with a standard1/4-20 thread.
24 Before leaving the camera unattended, please check for the follo wing: • Are the batteries or DC power supply inserted/connected with correct polarity and is the power level is sufficient? • D.
25 • Press the UP key for the previous photo or video and the D OW N key for the next one. W hen viewing images, the tot al number of all images in the SD card and the index of the displaying image are shown in the center of L CD and at the bottom of the video monitor respectively.
26 • Press the MENU key. Y ou will see the first “Delete” screen, which lets you selects the option to delete only the currently displayed photo/ video, or all photos/videos (see below) . • Highlight the “Delete Current” or “Delete All” option, then press OK .
27 DOWNLOADING THE PHOTOS/VIDEOS T o download your photos/videos to a P C or Mac*, first make sure the T rophy Cam power switch is in the OFF position. Connect a USB cable to the camera’s U SB port, then directly to a main U S B port on your computer-do not use front panel/keyboard US B ports or unpowered “hubs” .
28 Camera takes continuous images of no subject A camera has what is known as a “false trigger” if the PI R sensor thinks that there is motion and heat in front of the camera lens when there is no subject in the image.
29 3. Make sure that the camera power switc h is in the “On ” position and not in the “Off” or “Setup” modes. 4. Make sure that you are using a good quality SD card in your camera. Bushnell recommends SanDisk ® SD Cards up to 32G B . 5. If the SD card has its write protect switch in the loc k position, the camera will not take images.
30 2. Daytime photos or videos appear too dark a. Make sure that the camera is not aimed at the sun or other light sources during the day , as this may cause the auto exposure to produce darker results.
31 4. T ry to avoid setting the camera up on small trees that are prone to being moved by strong winds. 5. Remove any limbs whic h are right in front of the camera lens.
