4 Intended use Hearing instruments are int ended to impr ove the hearing of hearing impaired persons. Diagnosis and pr escription of a hearing instrument must be performed by hearing health specialists, e.g. ENT doctors, audiologists or acou- sticians.

Handling batteries 6 Remove the tab on y our X batteries only when y ou are ready t o use them. The positive (+) side of the batteries is alwa ys the X smooth side. Always k eep spare batteries with you. X Low battery indicator Y our Hearing Care Pr ofessional can activate an acoustic signal to inf orm you when the batter y is nearly empty .
Handling batteries 6 Inserting the batter y Open the battery compar tment X complet ely using your fingernail as shown in the illustration. Insert the proper size batter y so that X the "+" symbol on the battery aligns with the "+" marked on the batt er y compartment.
Handling batteries 6 Removing the battery Open the battery compar tment com- X plet ely . Normally the battery drops out when X the compartment is completely open. If the battery does not come out, lightly tap the instrument or push the battery out with a pencil as shown.
7 Inserting and removing your hearing instrument Inserting your hearing instrument T urn your hearing instrument off. X Hold the earmold between y our X thumb and index finger and insert it carefully int o the ear canal. Y ou may find it helpful t o pull your ear slightly upward or to the bac k.
T urning your hearing instrument on and off 8 Via batter y compartment : Fully close the batt er y compar tment to X turn the hearing instrument on. Pres s the battery compar tment downwar d X to the first st op to turn the hearing instru- ment off.
8 T urning your hearing instrument on and off Checking the hearing instrument's performance The LED shows whether the hearing instru- ments work properly . The LED shines continuously . The hearing instruments are switched on and sufficient batter y power is a vailable.
Changing the hearing program 9 Via push button Y our hearing instruments offer up to 5 hear - ing programs f or specific listening envir on- ments. Each time you pr ess the program butt on, your hearing instruments switch t o the next program, confirming eac h change with an acoustic signal.
Changing the volume 10 The volume of your hearing instruments is contr olled au- tomatically and ther e is no need to manually adjust it. Via volume control Should you pr efer manual vol- ume control, y our Hearing Care Prof essional can program the hearing instrument for manual adjustment.
11 Audio input Y our hearing instrument is equipped with an audio input. T ogether with an audio shoe it enables the connection between the hearing instrument and e.g. an FM syst em, tape recorder , t elevision or an infrared device. This wa y the sound is coming directly fr om the sound source.

X Align the cont acts of the audio shoe X with the contacts of the hearing in- strument. Slide the audio shoe over the hearing X instrument until it snaps into the end position.
12 T elephoning AutoPhone TM function With the AutoPhone function, y our hearing instrument will automatically switch t o the telephone program when you hold a t elephone handset near your hearing instru- ment (*).
12 T elephoning NOTICE Magnets pose risks to electr onics and magnetic storage mediums when placed in close pro ximity. Do not t o set magne ts near computers, color monitors, X television se ts, floppy discs, video/audio tapes and other electr onic equipment.
13 e2e wireless 2.0 Y our hearing instruments are equipped with e2e (ear -to- ear) wireles s 2.0 technology . Advantages of the wireless functionality: Automatically adjusts bo th hearing instruments simulta- neously to differ ent listening situations.
Y our hearing instruments are highly sensitiv e systems. Proper car e and handling will ensure the best pos sible performance. Clean instruments regularly t o prev ent damage to the hearing instruments and to a void health problems. Clean your hearing instruments with a soft, dr y tissue, X as necessary .
15 Accessories SafeFit Kit Y our Hearing Care Pr ofessional can conv er t this hearing instrument to be child-pr oof. The child-proof v ersion of the hearing instrument: does not ha ve a push botton. has a typeplate that can no t be detached by a c hild.
